Mormonism and Family

Mormonism and Family

Why is the family so important to Mormons?

Mormonism believes the family is the underlying organization for mankind throughout eternity. We know that families can be together forever through the Atonement of Jesus Christ along with our own efforts in life to follow Christ's teachings.

The family unit is God's organization of His children here on earth; God arranged for women and men to be wives and husbands teaching children in a loving environment. Mormonism, or The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, wrote up a proclamation to the world to re-enforce this God-given unit.

In the family unit, the greatest growth and enjoyment can be experienced. The reality that we can maintain our familial relationships forever is one of many evidences of God's love for us.

Each of us is a child of God

Mormonism teaches that each person is a child of God who loves us. Mormonism teaches us to treat each other as a child of God no matter what our age. We each need to do our part in our families to cultivate love and respect for each other and for Jesus Christ so that we may all return to live with Him one day.
